LG makes some of the best refrigerators in the US — and their water filters are just as reliable
LG refrigerator water filters use activated carbon block technology to reduce chlorine, lead, cysts, and other contaminants. All LG filters are NSF 42 and 53 certified. The challenge is simply finding which model fits your fridge. This guide covers all four current LG filter models.
LG LT1000P — best for 2018+ LG refrigerators
The LG LT1000P is the right filter for most LG French-door and side-by-side refrigerators purchased after 2018. It is also sold as the Kenmore 9980 and carries the part number ADQ747935.
- NSF 42 + 53 certified
- 6-month / 200-gallon life
- Push-in, tool-free installation
- Price: $20 with free US shipping
LG LT700P — best for 2010–2018 LG refrigerators
The LG LT700P (ADQ36006101) is the right filter for LG refrigerators manufactured between approximately 2010 and 2018. It is not interchangeable with the LT1000P despite the similar appearance.
- NSF 42 + 53 certified
- 6-month / 200-gallon life
- Twist-in installation
- Price: competitive with free US shipping
LG LT800P — best for LG bottom-freezer models
The LG LT800P is designed specifically for LG bottom-freezer refrigerators with the filter in the lower-left grille area. If your filter isn’t inside the fridge, this is likely your model.
- NSF 42 + 53 certified
- 6-month / 200-gallon life
- Grille-mounted push-button release
LG LT500P — best for older LG models
The LG LT500P replaces part number 5231JA2002A and fits older LG refrigerators. If your fridge is more than 12 years old and none of the above numbers match, the LT500P may be your filter.
- NSF certified for taste, odor, and health contaminants
- 6-month / 200-gallon life
- Twist-in installation
How to choose the right LG filter
Always check the part number printed on your current filter before ordering. LG filter part numbers start with “LT” and are printed clearly on the label. If the filter compartment is empty, check your fridge model number inside the door frame and cross-reference it with LG’s compatibility guide or contact our team for help.
