1. The 365-day return window

You have 365 days from the date of delivery to return any filter for a full refund or replacement. This applies to unopened filters in their original sealed packaging. We can be this generous because we stand behind every product we sell.

2. The $1,000 wrong-fit guarantee

If we ship you the wrong filter for your refrigerator, we will:

  • Issue a full refund of the filter purchase
  • Ship the correct filter free of charge
  • Reimburse up to $1,000 in spoiled food if the wrong filter caused contamination or appliance failure

To claim the food-spoilage portion, send us itemized photos and receipts. We process claims within 7 business days.

3. Damaged or defective filters

If your filter arrives damaged in transit, defective, or fails within its rated life span (typically 6 months), email us within 7 days of discovery. We replace it free of charge with priority shipping. Photos of the damage or defect speed things up.

4. Filters that have been installed or opened

For health and safety reasons, opened or installed filters cannot be returned for refund unless they are defective. The 365-day return window applies only to unused, unopened cartridges in factory-sealed packaging.

5. How to start a return (RMA process)

  1. Email us at contact@discountfiltershop.com with your order number and the reason for return
  2. We send you an RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization) within 1 business day, plus a prepaid USPS return label if applicable (see Section 6)
  3. Pack the filter in its original packaging or equivalent protection. Include a printed copy of the RMA email inside the box
  4. Drop the package at any USPS location or schedule a free pickup
  5. We process your refund within 2 business days of receipt; your bank credits it back to your original payment method in 5–7 business days

6. Who pays return shipping

  • Our error (wrong filter shipped, defective, damaged in transit): we cover return shipping with a prepaid label
  • Buyer’s preference (you ordered the wrong size by mistake, changed your mind): you cover return shipping. There is no restocking fee

8. Refund timing & method

Refunds are issued to your original payment method only (credit card, PayPal, etc.). Once we initiate the refund, the funds typically appear in your account within 5–7 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. We do not issue cash refunds or gift card credits in lieu of refund.

9. Original shipping costs

If you paid for expedited shipping on your original order, that shipping cost is non-refundable. The free standard shipping (orders $49+) carries no shipping refund as none was paid.

10. Cancellations

You can cancel your order before it ships at no cost. Email us at contact@discountfiltershop.com with your order number and we will issue a full refund. Once an order has shipped, the standard return process applies.
