Sub-Zero 7042798 Genuine Air Purification Cartridge

Genuine Sub-Zero 7042798 air filter

The Sub-Zero 7042798 air filter is the original part that Sub-Zero makes, shipped in its original Sub-Zero packaging. Because it keeps the air inside your refrigerator clean, fruit and vegetables stay fresh longer.

Why replace it every year

The cartridge removes ethylene, the gas that ripening produce releases, and it also removes odors and airborne bacteria. After about 12 months, however, the cartridge reaches the end of its capacity. As a result, it no longer cleans the air and produce spoils faster. Most Sub-Zero models show a reminder when the cartridge is due.

How to replace the Sub-Zero 7042798 air filter

1. First, find the cartridge inside the refrigerator. Your Sub-Zero use and care guide shows its exact position.
2. Next, remove the old cartridge.
3. Then insert the new cartridge until it sits fully in place.
4. Finally, reset the reminder on the control panel if your model has one.

Tips for fresher produce

Store very ripe fruit apart from leafy greens, because ripe fruit releases the most ethylene. Also, keep strong-smelling foods in closed containers, so the cartridge lasts its full year. Finally, change the cartridge and the water filter on the same day, which makes the date easy to remember.

Questions

Is this a genuine Sub-Zero part? Yes. It is the original Sub-Zero part in its original box, not a compatible copy.

Does it filter water? No. The Sub-Zero 7042798 air filter cleans the air, not the water. Instead, the water filter for many Sub-Zero refrigerators is the Sub-Zero 4204490.
