Results come from the EPA’s Fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5): 10,312 public water systems serving 20,754 ZIP codes, sampled between January 2023 and June 2026. Source: EPA UCMR 5 occurrence data.
“Average” counts every sample, with non-detects as zero. The EPA limit shown is the 2024 national drinking water standard of 4 parts per trillion (ppt) for PFOA and for PFOS, which applies to a running annual average. A ZIP code can be served by several systems, and your home may not receive water from every one listed.
This report describes your utility’s water, not your own tap. Lead, for example, usually comes from household plumbing and can only be measured by testing your tap.
